UI Bug

Found an interesting bug today.

1. Open a Visual Studio Team System product (Architects, Developer, Test, Suite, Data Pro)

2. Ensure you are connected to Team Foundation Server

3. Open the Team menu

4. Drill down to either of the Source Control options (project or server wide)

5. Open it (it will error in Project (message box) if you do not have any projects; that is normal)

6. Close down any dialogs you have opened

7. Look at the menu again - There is no longer an option to configure source control until you reopen Visual Studio

David:

I posted a bug under VS 2005. If that is not the correct location, just let me know.

UPDATE: I found the resolution. What is happening is the default MSSCI is pointed to Vault on this machine. When it initially connects, the menu item is there and source control is hooked up to Team System. When it disappears the default is set to Vault. By setting default under options to Team System, the Source Control issue goes away. There are a few other quirks I have found when the MSSCI is set to something other than Team System.
