Did you write out the error message or copy-paste it?
because the path C:\Windows|Microsoft.NET\Framework\V2.050215\Microsoft.Common.targets shouldn't contain the pipe char | in c:\Windows|Mirco.....
Did the re-install of VS also re-install the .net 2.0 framework?
I typed it in and made a error sorry it should of but a \ also net 2.0 framework was installed, the orignal vb 2005 express was on my c drive and the vs is on d drive it keeps trying to find root element in c drive
any idea how to fix this?
thanks bruni
Hi,
There is another post that might discuss the answer for you:
http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=23219
Is it possible that your targets file is opened? Please try closing it and see if the errors go away.
If not, we may need to see your project itself. The best thing to do in that case is file a product feedback bug and provide steps and code to reproduce.
Hope this helps. Best,

thanks for the help i fixed problem by removing all and i meam all files connected in anyway what so ever to visual basic from my hard drive and then reinstalled vb 2005 express beta 2, then when i reopened it the project that i had been working on were still listed but when i went to open them a message displayed saying that they didn't exist on that drive and would i like to delete them from the current list which was exactly what i wanted to do.Iam now able to open up a new project.
