Insure that the DE starts with Networking support. This can be viewed by clicking the File-Configure options and selecting the Network Settings once the DE is started. Assuming the DE has network, once started, my DE will not connect to the Internet unless I set the following:

Start Menu-Settings-Connections-Connections, on the "Advanced" folder tab, click the "Select Networks" button. In the "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using" dropdown selection, change the selection to use "My Work Network". Click OK to complete.

ReStart IE if it is already running by going to Start Menu-Settings-System-Memory-Running Programs and Stop IE. When you re-run IE, it should be connected. The connections setting has to change as the "Networks Cards" selection "My network card connects to" is set to "Work" when the DE initially starts. This works for me anyway...

I have the same problem. I've set it to my work network, changed file/configure/network settings, changed (in vs) tools/options/device options/device/properties, still nothing. I almost fell like I'm losing it, is it really worth this much hassle? I have vs2005 beta 2, active synch 4.0, both SDK's for DE's, and all I get is The page cannot be found. Check the name and try again. Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Finally it got it working. First make sure that in Active Synch 4.0 you have changed File>Connection Settings>Allow connections to one of the following: is checked and set at DMA. Next, in Visual Studio, select Tools>Device Emulator Manager>Datastore>device you want to connect to: select Cradle first, then Connect. This is what worked for me. Of course, no loopback adapter is required if you have an active Internet connection.

OK with help of Sjhon who showed me the way (active synch ) one ,i finally made it to vsit local and internet sites,here are steps, Sjhon already told aout active synch part so wont discuss again

with in Emulator screen after connected with active Synch

)go to Start->Connections

2) on Menu click 1 advanced,that will open Advanced Tab

3) if you have successfully connected active Synch via Emulator,here in Internet Connection Option, Pass Thru Connection will appear beside Automatic,if its not selected,just select Passthru Option

4) now again click Menu, selec Option and select my Desktop connects to Internet

4) now save settings by hittin DONE unless you get main Home Screen

5) go to IE,select Options->Connections and set Select Network to Internet,save the things and hit any website,default MSN Mobile,you should be able to view local and internet sites

6)Last but not least,as Carl suggested here don`t forget to remove NE200 option from network tab otherwise u might get device not connect error
