Problem in Visual Studio 2005 tiling MDI Child windows

We are developing an application in VS2005 that was working fine using MDI Child forms. We made a few changes and now the tiling doesn't work. Here's what is happening: For horizontal tiling it tiles the windows but does not fill the parent display area, there is a large area where the parent form shows. For vertical tiling it displays the forms overlapping at the top the parent; for 2 child windows the front window overlaps the rear window, the rear window seems to be extended beyond the master form and the right scroll bar does not appear, there is a large blank area at thr bottom of the master yet both child forms are not extended vertically.

Any ideas would be appreciated
