Problem Downloading and Burning Windows Vista Beta 2 (64-bit)

Note* this only happens when I try to download the 64-bit version.

I attempt to download the ISO file, but end up downloading a 14mb ISO

that contains nothing except a README.TXT file, and when I burn it to a

cd (nero won't let me burn to a dvd for some strange reason) it says

that 4.01 gigabytes are used on the cd. When I try to boot from it, it

seems to load fine but gives an error:

-

Windows did not start correctly. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

If you have a Windows installation disc, insert the disc and restart

your computer. Click System recovery options, and then choose a

recovery tool. (Startup Repair, available in some versions of Windows,

can automatically diagnose and fix startup problems.

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator of computer manufacturer for further assistance.

Status: 0xc00000e9

Info: Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device

connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a

removable storage device while the device is in use.

first, download a program called "Download Accelerator Plus" this will enable you to download the entire iso in about an hour,,

http://www.speedbit.com/

next when you are on the microsoft site, choose to use your own program feature o the right side ,,

download excellerator should click open and start downloading the entire file quickly..

Hi fellow goers in the semicharted seas of Vista,

I too receive the 0xC00000e9 error and in a 64 bit load and I did ownload the entire 4.x beastie.

Any ideas. BTW. Platform is a 64 bit kaptop from CLevo - D900T with 2 gig Ram, Promise Fasttrak 378 controller 2 disks. And a useful battery life of about half of a movie.

Hey I had the same Problem But,you need to download the whole file but also burning the file was also a problem because most burning software only works of 32 bit system so what I had to do was tranfer the ISO file to my 32 bit computer providing you have one, burn it there on 32 bit software ,after burning five disks i finally had it only to find out there's no upgrade just a full install nice to look at too Vista that is but without the upgrade most drivers wont work and well its just a sneak peak at some really nice looking stuff.

Hey I hope that helps

Unless You use a ISO/burning program that will read the UDF files in the image You only do see the readme file. Trust Me, all the files ARE there. I actually burned the 64 bit version FROM the 32 bit version of Vista Beta 2. As long as the burning speed is at its lowest setting and it can read UDF files it should work. I found the only way it would not hang with an error during install was to re-format the HD then re-boot. Once that was done and i had an actual bootable 64 bit DVD the install went smooth as silk even on My SATA C: drive. Hope that sheds a little more light on how to make it work, and YES 64 bit is better than 32 bit I have not thought of switching from the 64 bit since install, I can not wait for it to hit the market so I can buy a copy of the ultimate edition 64 bit!
