HD DVD supports "Standard Content" which is basically the same as normal DVD but with hi-def video and a few extensions (like more colours for your sub-picture). So you don't really need to do anything.
If you want the snazzy new menus though, you pretty much have to start from scratch. Someone may come out with a tool that takes normal DVD metadata and puts it into the XML Playlist format (can't be that hard) but I don't know of anything at the moment. You'd still have a lot to do though just coding the menu system in iHD (or taking a template and filling that in).
OK,
If I have standard dvd content (VIDEO_TS folder), can't I reference it in the ihd playlist (xpl) and add an application section to a title?
This would be a nice feature. Such a disk can be inserted into standard dvd player as well as into hd-dvd player. And the hd-dvd player will provide richer content.
Note: This disc does conform with the DVD Video spec. but not with the latest HD DVD specification.
What about current version of iHD-Simulator? Will it process such folder structures?
What .xpl file should look like?

Is it planned to create a tool that can convert existing standart DVD content to hd-dvd application, that declares the same list of video titles and chapters?
