Another search issue related to users

There was and still is an issue when searching for certain users posts. My original report about this
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=340870&SiteID=1

I go to some users profile and click "search", when browsing to the next page of results I get errors.

We apologize, but an unknown error has occured during search. Please try your search again.

Please try again with different criteria

Now I am seeing a new (to me) problem when I search another users post
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/Search/Search.aspx?words=&CSVUserID=OTk2OQ==&SiteID=1

Invalid search criteria!

Search expects at least two characters! Please try again with valid criteria

Hi Andreas.

I have tried to repro this bug, but it was working fine for me. Could you please post us the repro steps for the same.

Thank you,
Bhanu.

I posted other repro steps in this thread.
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=548755&SiteID=1

This URL gives me the error, invalid search must have at least two characters.
http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/Search/search.aspx?lcid=1033&words=&idx=1&pgsize=10&SiteID=1&localechoice=9&searchscope=&ForumID=-1&ForumGroupID=-1&CSVUserID=9969

The URL is given as Next for search result for certain users.

Tested the above in logged on IE7 and a freshly started version of firefox 1.5 (not logged in and logged in) and both fail with same error.

If there is anyone else that can test it please do and post the result.

It reproduces well and I've run into this bug several times. It seems to depend on the length of the search term. 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, 12 characters consistently fail.

I didn't see an answer to this. The broken "Next" link for search results is an old known issue. It is slated to be fixed in the next service pack release, slated for deployment sometime this month. Thanks!
