Using MSSCCI provider with VS 2003

I am trying to use the MSSCCI plug-in in VS2003 but I am having problems trying to bind my projects to the TFS projects. It seems no matter what kind of Team Project I create it will not recognize it. In the Source Control dialog I just get <unable to display> in the Server Binding column.

I can convert projects to 2005 and add them to a Team Project all day long.

How does VS2003 with the MSSCCI plug-in bind to a Team Project?

We are also having troubles with this.

Is there any workaround? Or is "Browse" and "..." not supported by the TFS MSSCCI Provider?

You can see the dialog here: http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n237/gholliday/unable_to_display.png

Hello,

I see that everything is fine on the screenshot - the projects are connected and status is valid. The Browse may not work as expected (you are prompted only for the server and that's it) because TFS Msscci does not allow to create new mappings if the project is already in the mapped location.

wbbeasley,

what are you doing to add the project to SCC - are you using "Add solution to SourceControl"?

Thanks - That's all I wanted to know. Whether it was a limitation of the TFS MSSCCI provider or not.

We are using a number of different ways to add projects to SCC. Because we have migrated the 200+ .csproj/.sln files from VSS we ran a script over the files to fix up the bindings to ones that TFS MSSCCI would understand.

Otherwise, if the project is not bound at all - we use 'change source control' and select 'bind', and it picks up the correct location based on the workspace it was opened from.

Is it better or worse to use 'Add solution to SourceControl'? I remember it being problematic due to the fact that it was communicating with TFS out-of-band and there was no status shown in VS2003.
