Severe passport issues

I am having some severe passport issues now when clicking on almost any navigational link (my thread, edit post, reply post, posting a reply or a thread)

any ideas when we can get this resolved? It really is getting worse, from my end.

Sometimes if I replied to a topic and find a typo or wish to add additional information, when I click edit (timeframe between posting and clicking the edit button: 8 seconds) it asks me to log into my passport account again.

And just now when I pressed the post button to post this thread, it redirected me again to the passport login screen.

I have to copy and paste my reply on every reply I give :(

Sometimes those issues are because of messed up cookies/cache. Have you tried to close all browsers and remove all cookies and cache?

Do you have passport issues on other passport (Windows Live?) sites, such as hotmail, or Microsoft Connect? I have occasionally found that the passport site can be slow to respond during authentication, but after I'm authenticated things are OK again.

yes I do, and that is what I am using (Windows Live hotmail).

ill give my machine another reboot, clear out the cookies/temp files again and see how it goes

I also had some issues recently where I was signed into one of the sites (MSDN subscriptions, I think), and I tried to go to another site, and it told me that I needed to "Log In by clicking the XXX button", where the XXX is usually the Sign-In button. Instead, I got the sign-out button, and regardless of how many times I clicked it (Sign-Out), or site (Hotmail, MSDN Subscriptions), it neither signed me out, nor let me log-in.

This occurred in both Firefox and IE. I fixed it by deleting all cookies for both browsers, and restarting the browsers (after checking in Task Mgr that the processes were actually finished - IE likes to hang around for a 'cuppa' sometimes). This fixed it, without rebooting my PC.

If it keeps on happening, perhaps try changing the 'remember me' setting when you log in again to not remember your password (or otherwise - that is, select something other than what you originally chose).

Given the date on this post, I'm guessing this was due to one of the Passport updates being in progress at the time. If you're still having this problem, please respond back; otherwise I'll assume all is well.

This is still an issue!

It seems that Document Explorer and Internet Explorer's cookies are incompatible.

I have found the problem occurs if I use Visual Studio and Document Explorer and then opens Internet Explorer, doing a regular search in IE, and one of the results points to the forums. After visiting the forums using IE, Document Explorer can no longer sign in.

Only solution is to delete all cookies. I hate that, I use many login cookies, that I now have to retype.

Another annoyance:

Why can't Document Explorer remember my password? I often have to retype it. It's just a forum - not my bank account, so why log out? Please set a reasonable timeout, like 3 months or so.

At times for me, when I go to make a new post it asks me to sign-in, I enter my detials and it brings me back to the log-in form, again and again..........

Also it sometimes it says that i am logged in, then, when I go to make a post it asks me to log-in again, then it goes in another loop. If i go back and try to press the log out button, it says that I was logged out, I retuen to the index (with the link) and apparently I am still logged in.

The only way I found to fix this was to clear out ALL my cookies and restart IE -.-"

But then it happens again a few days later
