Different problems deleting posts...

I was trying to delete some duplicate posts today and I now get different problems. I went through the delete process and instead of getting an internal error message I get just a blank page. I didn't copy the source of the page, but it looked like ASP code, IIRC something about a redir object or something.

To recap the other deletion problems I've been encountering (if I've missed some of these issues in other bug reports and to make it easier by consolidating everything into one post):

  • Deleting a post sends me back to the Delete Post or Thread upon successful deletion (but there's no indication of a successful deletion, until I press Delete Post again and the location of the post now displays ... Deleted Posts ...)
  • Deleting a post results in "internal error" message.
  • Deleting a post sends me back to the thread page but the post that was deleted still appears in the list of posts for the thread. Attempting to delete the post again showed the post still not in the Deleted Posts forum.

Peter,

Is this still an issue? Are you using the delete button or the link to delete the thread?

I haven't had the blank page in a while. I don't recall if it was the button or the link. Either case I was trying to delete a post, not thread.

I still get

  • Deleting a post sends me back to the Delete Post or Thread upon successful deletion (but there's no indication of a successful deletion, until I press Delete Post again and the location of the post now displays ... Deleted Posts ...)

  • Deleting a post results in "internal error" message.
  • quite frequently. Both with delete thread and delete post; but more with delete post.

I can't currently repro this so it seems to be resolved. Can you confirm?

Thanks for the follow-up Penny. No, I haven't seen this issue in quite some time.
