Better email alerts

Perhaps posts to threads you already replied to could automatically trigger an email alert, less clumsy than Microsoft Alerts? Most forums just send you an email with a direct link to the thread. The Microsoft Alert by email has no direct link to the thread, and the enabling of email alerts is clumsy. If I look at the attached html file, which I donotwant (plain text please please), I can see a link, but the plain text version is:

Microsoft Alerts from Microsoft Forums

xxx@xxx.com
You have received the following alert from Microsoft Forums

There's a new post in a Forums thread you are tracking!, "Re: Invoking components".

Add more alerts:http://alerts.microsoft.com
Go to My Alerts page to view your alerts:http://alerts.microsoft.com
Go to Microsoft Forums:http://forums.microsoft.com/msdn/alertsSignup.aspx

This is fairly useless. I use plain text for email reading for many reasons, mainly spam, and file size.

For my automatic alert on this message, I received the same kind of alert. The problem is not the html version (please stop sending the html). The problem is the plain text version -- neither the new post nor the link to the thread is available. In Outlook Express, the complete plain text version of the alert for this thread (email address changed):
Microsoft Alerts from Microsoft Forums

myemailaddress@...

Please add an option to send plain text email instead of html, with the plain text containing at a minimum a link to the thread. And please make it mail direct instead of using MSN alerts, which is clumsy.
