Suddenly I can't open any forms in the Designer

I've been happily working on a new program in Visual C# Express. I have had a few problems, no doubt, but this one takes the cake.
When I opened my project today, upon double-clicking a form in the 'Solution Explorer', I get 'Object Reference not set to an instance of an Object' dialog popup. And the form doesn't open. It happens to all the forms in the Project.
I tried opening my other project... same thing.
So. all my C# projects have come to an end ;-(
A bit of a downer. What am I to do here? Start again, and hope it doesn't happen again? Anybody else had this problem?

Actually, does anyone know: is there a known problem when installing a Windows Update Service Pack (Updated Rollup 1 4 for windows 2000 Service Pack 4).
I have a sneaking feeling that this is the only thing that I've done between my project working fine and not.
Since I already had sp4 installed, one might think it wouldn't cause any problems...

I've reinstalled Visual C# Express and the .NET 2 beta runtime environment but the problem persists.
I've attached one of my projects to the incident report so someone can at Microsoft can have a look at it.

Don't visit this site at the moment unless you like being driven around in circles

http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/productfeedback/
It keeps on taking you back to a profile page and you can't get out.

I've installed C# Express at work and emailed the project to myself and what do you know... the forms open fine.
So reinstaling .NET 2 runtime environment and C# Express doesn't work at home but a fresh installation of C# Express has no problems.
So something, probably about installing the Service Pack 4 Roundup for Windows 2000 has screwed it up. My advice to anyone is not to install this Service Pack update if you want C# Express to work.
My next step is to uninstall and reinstall C# Express. After that, maybe uninstall the Service Pack 4 rounup and do it all again.
If I could login to that annoying site at http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/ I would tell the people looking at it, but I can't get anywhere with it at the moment. I keep on getting thrown back to a profile page and literally can't get onto the site. Using any browser.

Sorry for hogging the thread. I have solved this problem.
I uninstalled C# Express and the Beta 2 Runtime Environment, restarted the machine and reinstalled them (from the web) again.
After that, the forms open OK.
