Move source file in Source Control Explorer and lose history on where it was moved from

When I move a source file in Source Control Explorer, the history doesn't detail where it was moved from. Is this by design?

Jason,

Move opearation should be listed in history window as "Rename" change and you should be able to see the history of all other changes too.

Thanks,

The history tells me that it was renamed, but it doesn't tell me what the file used to be called. (Or where it was moved from.)

Double clicking an entry in history window brings up Details for Changeset dialog that has Folder field that provides information about the files and folders.

You should be able to get information about previous name or location of a renamed file by checking out changeset details for previous change in History window.

I agree that it could be cumbersome to find this if previous changeset had lots of items and or the change itself was not very straightforward.

OK. I see what you mean now. It would be nice if a comment was automatically placed on the file that was renamed, but I agree that it is possible to find out the information. Thanks for your help!
