Installing Visual C# .NET 2003

I'm attempting to install Visual C# .NET 2003 on my laptop. When the setup comes up, there's a four step process. The first step is getting system prerequisites installed. I got that part done successfully, and the next step is to install Visual Studio .NET 2003. I select that option on the start-up menu, and I get a message tell me to "Please go to the Control Panel to install and configure system components." Can anyone help me explain what to do to get this thing to install?

Thanks.

You need to install IIS and Frontpage extensions, to do this on Windows XP:

1. Choose Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
2. Click Add/Remove Windows Components
3. Double-click Internet Information Services (IIS)
4. Check Common Files, FrontPage 2000 Server Extensions, Internet Information Services Snap-In and World Wide Web Service.
5. Click OK and OK.

I've actually already completed the preliminary steps and have installed the proper IIS components, yet it still gives me that error.

There is a CD labeled "disk1" I believe. On that CD is a directory named "Setup", can you go that Setup directory and run setup.exe. See if that moves you along.

I have deleted the registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/App Paths/setup.exe that ends up initiating setup.exe in Windows\System32. The setup.exe there displays that message.
