VSS History Problem

When we attempt to grab the history for our project (from a few revisions ago) we are unable to complete the process. Source safe fails to retrieve all the code for that version, and Source Offsite crashes.
We ran the analyze tool on our source safe database and we get the following error
Analyze was not able to fix this problem... "The Parent Project for item flowcut (ckdaaaaa) is corrupt and the link to the child file has been lost until the project is recovered."
Does anyone know what to do about this or how to fix it?
We have run the analyze /f tool several times and the error persists.

Hi TBone,
I do not think the database corruption is causing the SourceOffsite issue.
I think the analyze error is an indication of an orphan project. The new VSS 2005 Beta analyze with a -f should be able to fix this option. Before the VSS 2005 analyze Microsoft support has a tool called datawiz to clean up these orphans.
To obtain datawiz contact Microsoft support:

As far as the Source Offsite crashing problem it is likely related to a threading model problem introduced in 6.0d 9848 and later fixed
FIX: Visual SourceSafe Stops Responding When Users Connect to a Database ID: 826816 http://support.microsoft.com/?id=826816

This fix is also inluded in the 31222 build of Visual Studio service pack 6.0

I hope this helps.
