Report Controls - no need for SQL Server ?

Just to confirm -

When using the VS2005 report controls in local mode, there is no need for SQL Server at all ? That is, I could have a .NET application reporting on Oracle data, with no SQL install anywhere (e.g. to store report meta-data etc.) ?

And there is no run-time licensing or royalty issues ? If I've bought VS, reports are completely cost-free to the end customer ?

And no Crystal DLL hell installs ? The reporting controls are .NET assemblies that I ship with my app ?

Thanks,
Andy Mackie.

That's correct. When using the report controls in local mode there is no need for SQL Server at all. There is no run-time licensing or royalty required. The report controls are .NET assemblies that you ship with your app.
