Tips on posting

Here are some tips on posting, so that your questions could likely be answered quickly.

1.Make your Title as significant as possible. Compose it in a way that you would ask an expert. example - "How could I change a Buttons Background?" instead of "button background problem"

2.Explain in detail the nature of your dillema. But please make it short, straight to the point but descriptive.

3.Provide steps on reproducing your problem. So that other posters could replicate this on their pc's and thus find a quick solution.

4. Also, provide a Code Snippet where you think is causing the problem. This is a common situation that the poster forgot to include a code, hence the supposed to be answerer could not reproduce the error and was unable to solve the problem.

5. Last, but not the least. When you think that your question is answered, mark the post as answered. So that other people with the same problem could easily locate your post.

In addition to that, If you feel that you have been insulted or violated in the others response, don't hesitate the report button at the lower right of the post...

cheers,

6. Keep to just ONE problem per thread. It helps to maintain the topic focused and aids searches.

If code is included I will suggest providing the smallest possible code sample that provoke the issue, present the situation, or demonstrate the point trying to be explained. This simplification effort helps others to get the message a lot better.

Posting tip

8) Check your Windows Event Log (especially with regard to web-related issues). Is there something helpful there that either solves your problem, or, post the content of the log on the forum if you believe it will help.

Start -> Run -> type "eventvwr" -> click "OK"

maybe just a personal opinion, but aren't there too many questions which really belong into the "Windows Forms" forum? They should be moved...

When posting code samples, if you want to keep your formatting when pasting text into the web edit box, first copy the text into notepad or MS Word then copy the text from notepad/MS Word to the web editor and the formatting is preserved.

Hi,

I don't know what to do except posting here as some posts are not being marked as answered albeit they are.Because of that ,it happens to open the same post again and again thinking as it is not answered sometimes. It creates a bit inconvenience also to find the correct answer in the list of answers posted in that thred.

So, as we are all following the posted tips ,and few of us some times are missing to follow the must tip - 5 and hope they don't from now onwards.

Thanx & Regards,
