Moderation suggestion: visual cue that post as been unmarked as answer by asker.

Suggestion for moderators and/or answerer privilege. Provide a visual cue that someone has marked a post as an answer and the asker has unmarked the post as an answer. As moderators we often get to a post sometime after it has been posted, in that time another moderator or an answerer has marked a reply as an answer and the user has unmarked it as an answer. Without anyway to know the user hasn't accepted that reply as an answer a moderator could mark it as an answer again, annoying the asker.

About 5 years ago, experts exchange allowed people to mark their own comments as answers. It was a disaster. I personally think that the asker should mark a comment as an answer. Anyone else using the thread could also mark a comment as an answer - I think thats ok if it answered the problem they were having. But I don't think someone contributing to the thread should mark their own comment as answer unless the thread is old. I do not believe that the forum software should be changed, but contributors should be asked not to mark their post as an answer in site guidelines.

I'm not asking that existing abilities to answer a question or not be changed. I'm merely requestion that there be a visual indication that a post had been marked an answer but was unmarked by the thread's creator (or anyone else, if that's easier).
