Forum Down?

For the last... 2 some hours it seems threads and forums are not updating as they should and pages such as the Unanswered posts thread for instance reports the most recently posted thread as having been posted at 9:20 PM UTC (a thread I have replied to but of which there is no indication of) while the main forum page reports the time as being around 11:13 PM UTC.

I wonder if this thread will be lost into the temporary void after I post it and wait for whatever db reads need to occur to update the main pages.

I noticed that too, especially when you had duplicate posts and I tried replying at the same time as you on this particular thread.

Would be nice if we can implement a system ASAP about forum downtime/maintainence happening. Or perhaps redirecting the DB to another DB (kind of like clustering I guess) whilst maintainence is being performed, then afterwards pretty much transferring the "temp" data back over.

I don't know, just some ideas I'm pitching in, could be nonesense! :-)

There was an issue in forums on Thursday. What was the issue? To be honest, I don't know yet. We are working with our Operations team to analyze event logs, etc to determine the issue. On the flip side, the issue seems to have resolved itself. It is like magic :)

Thanks

Jana - right now we are in the middle of experiencing problems (slow response, "error has occured" page is shown when we reply/delete/edit/mark or unmark an answer in a post)
