Plain text alerts

I use plain-text for reading email since it is so much safer. It is nearly impossible for a virus or trojan or whatever to execute when plain text is used; plain text does not help spammers and it is much easier for me to spot phishing and such.

When I get an alert about a reply to a thread I am subscribed to, I don't get a link to the thread. I do get a link to the thread if I switch to HTML view for the message, although the link is for "alert details" which seems misleading for me.

It would help if a link were provided somehow in the alert message that would work when plain-text is used for viewing the message.
