Questions getting lost, going unanswered...
Twice so far, I've posted a question and gotten a reply that wasn't the answer to my question. Once a question has been replied to, people tend to ignore it, because they think the question was answered (even if it's not marked as having an answer). Then it gets buried under all the other questions and you'll probably never get an answer.
Is there a way to keep questions from being lost, if no working answer was given?
Sincerely,
Gordon E.
Gordon,
It'd be helpful if you could include links to those questions if you still have the links.
Typically, if you're not getting the answer that you're looking for, it's usually because your original question was too confusing, too vague, or posted in the wrong forum. It's fairly hard to write good questions, but it's worth the time. You should include what you are trying to accomplish, what you've already tried, any errors that you've been encountering, and really focus on the one piece of information that you're looking for.
The other piece of advice is that you should really make sure that the forum you're posting in is the most focused forum for what you're trying to accomplish.
One of the topics I'm referring to is here:

I was VERY specific in my question, and I posted it to (what I felt was) the appropriate forum. The only answer I was given was how to manually set the default values... but I clearly stated in my original question that this is NOT what I wanted to do.
How can I be more clear?
Sincerely,
Gordon E.
