The current Product Key being used on your system is non-genuine for one of two reasons:

- The key was made using a non-Microsoft sanctioned Key Generator

- The key was reported lost or stolen from the original purchaser.

Can you verify that your COA matches your Product Key? If it does not you can try the following:

thanx, after i send this mail i spend my night trying to validate my windows becourse i paid 400euro new for it in the pcstore, the code is on the back.. now i have just seen that my xp is not the same as the original i have installed. how is that possible? i've went on holiday for 2 weeks and i'm just back... i cant put my original xp that i paid a lot for back on the pc becourse the one on my pc is a more recent on.. i cant even start from bios or from cd.. how is that possible that my good original one is replaced by a false one? i cant download or upgrade anything... i just seen that the key... ect... is not the same like the one on the xp box...

help.. sorry for my bad writhing.. normaly just dutch...

your best bet to ask the question is over at the appropriate Windows XP newsgroups which can be located at:

www.microsoft.com/communities

I would also suggest you go back to your PC Store where you purchased the CD from and tell them about your situation and if they can do something about the CD/product key
