I have afew questions related to general game development and community building.
I'm an environmental concept artist looking to join a quality development team but most seem to crash after a year or less, does anybody have any suggestions on the perfect mix for a development team built for stability?.

That is fantastic work altiii,
Graphics Tablets come in handy...
As for your question...
I wouldn't say that there is any fixed number of people that would make up a perfect team.
Take a look at various companies and their successes.
"Offset Software started as 3 people: Sam McGrath,
Travis Stringer and Trevor Stringer. Initally working out of an
apartment and completely self-funded, the engine and all art was
created with a tiny budget"
The Offset engine has now grown to an amazing engine and already some major companies are licensing it such as Red 5 studios.
That's just 1 example.
Some teams just work well together and i'd suggest having fun and getting a team of people that are interested in having fun but also serious about the work. Start off small and as you need more people, place some adds.
I hope this helps.
Take care.
