How do I add a dropdown menu button to IE

Hi,

I've found the tutorial on adding buttons to the IE toolbar (http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/browser/ext/tutorials/button.asp), but it doesn't cover how I can add a dropdown menu button to the IE toolbar. Is this possible for an extension? Or do I need to add my own toolband in order to add a dropdown button?

I'd rather not add a separate toolband, just to host one or two buttons to IE.

Thanks,
Lynne

Hi,

Unfortunately at this time there is no available mechanism to provide additional dropdown style buttons to the IE toolbar. The request has been passed on to that part of the IE development team for consideration in a future version of IE.

Thanks

Here's a hack (src is in Delphi):

It still doesn't work as well as a separate toolband - especially when the browser window is not wide enough to accommodate your buttons.
