Desktop Search 3.0 for XP and Power Users - Definitley lacking

I have been using Desktop search since its inception as a replacement ( and thankfully so ) to Lookout for Outlook. all of the versions I have used in the desktop search have advanced well as the need for functionallity has evolved. The latest version, however; has one serious flaw in my opinion. I am what my IT calls a "Power User" if there is bandwidth i will choke it, if there is ram I will fill it. I multitask on so many requests at one time that i need software and hardware that can keep up but does not slow me down. Desktop search will slow me down for a day or two after install and index build but it has always been worth it for the results. The New version wont even get started. I have tried everything i know of to even get it to try to index but since i have so many apps running it just sits there doing nothing. Even after I log off it will not index. Earlier Versions included the ability to prioritize or not to prioritize indexing. I liked that feature and it is missing from three as it allowed me a choice in how fast or slow i could allow my machine to run. Before 3.0 is released as a full version i beg of the developers to bring back that choice or possibly even an indexing throttle that allows for multiple levels of CPU Usage. Aside from that one (although in my opinion critical) aspect of 3.0 that i dont like i do like the dressed up. Windows and the easier to navigate file type selector. that is a definite plus. I have uninstalled three and am going back to 2.6.5. Please Bring back the choice before re-releasing 3.0 and thank you so much for developing this powerful tool. Power users across the globe who have used it bless you.

Hello Szuba,

Thanks for providing your feedback. In 3.0 you can prioritize indexing by selecting "Index Now" (which will stay selected even after indexing has finished). In 3.0, this option works very similarly to the "Prioritize Indexing" option that was available in 2.6.5. To select Index now right click on the magnifying glass in the system tray and select Index Now.
