IE7 Beta Antiphishing

I moved my master hard drive to a slave and installed a new master.
I was trying to delete fiels off the old hard drive but there is one folder associated with the previous IE7 Beta installation that I can not delete.

C:\Documents and Settings\User\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Antiphishing

The folder is inaccessible and undeletable. How do I delete it?
Ending explorer.exe and using command prompt does not work.

If you're just deleting all the files, why not Format the drive?

You'll need to take ownership of the folder, right click, choose properties/security/advanced/owner, select your user name and the "replace owner on subcontainers and objects" click ok.

Then you can delete it.

If you don't see "Security" then you need to turn of "Simple File Sharing". to do that click the tools menu from the folder window and click on folder options. Then click on the view tab and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the list. Uncheck "Use simple file sharing" and click OK. Once that is down you will see the security tab on the properties menu for the folder and you can follow the aboe posts about changin ownership.

Hi Michelle, by any chance do you know what to do if you're using XP Home Edition? There appears to be no "Use simple file sharing" option under the View tab in XP Home Edition. I am having the same problem of not being able to delete about 3 old user folders after a Windows XP re-install.

We found a way to solve this problem:
Start XP in secure mode (F8); lock in as Administrator (otherwise we can't lock in as Admin but only as user with Admin rights and that does not work!)
Then take ownership of Folder Antiphishing and delete. This works easily.

I tried the above suggesting of logging into safe mode as admin and changing ownership to admin and deleting, but that did not work either.

I am still stuck with this folder. Any new ideas?

Thanks for the info. I've been trying to remove that folder for days. Once I changed the permissions like you suggested, I was immediately able to delete it. Thanks again.
