UI Automation on Web Browser(IE)

I am Working on UI Automation and i am trying to acess each and every control and its related information ( Say name , Control type ) .. Now when when i click on hyperlink then on StructureChangeEvent i get the Controltype as "Pane" .. What is the issue ? ... Though Hyperlink control supports "invoke pattern" , invoke handlers is never fired..
