How to get acceptable image quality of exported class designer images after converting from Word

Hi,

I exported some classes of a class diagram as images to Word and everything looks pretty well. But after converting that Word document to PDF using Acrobat 7 the quality of the diagrams is bad or the diagrams are corrupted (part of the gradient is missing). I tried several file types (jpg, emf, png), changing formats in Visio, copy&paste and of course lots of Distiller options. Exporting to emf results in best quality, but unfortunately the diagrams are corrupted.

Although this is maybe more a question of correct Distiller settings, I really would appreciate if someone has some best practice how to accomplish that?

Thanks in advance,

rz

Hi,

My best guess is that Acrobat settings are set such that only web colors are allowed (or some other particular palette). This makes gradients or part of gradients to be lost. Perhaps you can check with other non-class diagram images that contain gradients and see if you get the same results.
