well they can when you go through the main page of the website - you can just select the subforum you want and it will be shown :-)

just to clarify, are you wanting the forum view to be customizeable per user such that it remembers your view preferences?

I concur this would be a nice feature: there are many (many!) forums that a l, personally, don't visit (the moderator forum has been added to that list, unfortunately), and although it's not hard to scroll down to the desired forum, sometimes it would be nice to see the forums one wants 'right there'.

However, the collapsable groups is a good second-best.
