help! i can't uninstall ie7 rc 1 and revert back to ie 6. what do i do? Internet Explorer 7 shows up on the Add/remove programs list but it does have the option to change/remove
any suggestions?
Be sure you're looking for "Windows Internet Explorer 7," not just "Internet Explorer 7."
Hope this helps...

I have this issue as well....Found the above in Add/Remove but it doesn't give you the option to remove when selected.
Hi Nivek,
Don't despair, there is a solution. I had the same problem.
My advise to everyonme is DO NOT INSTALL IE 7 at all.
It can be removed by doing the following :-
Click on start
Go to My Computer
Click on Local Disk C
Click on Windows folder and open
Find and click on ie7 folder and open
Go to spunist folder and open
Locate Windows Service Pack and double left click icon
Double click on Uninstall Microsoft Corporation, this is the Windows IE 7 Removal Wizard
Click next
Inspect Current Configuration will appear on the screen
If you have installed anything after IE 7, a list will be displayed, you will be asked if you want to continue, if happy
to do so, click Yes.
The process will then start to remove IE 7. Registry will be updated.
The following will then occur, Run process after uninstall, perform clean up etc.
You should see the message IE 7 has been removed, restart computer to complete uninstall.
This will take your computer back to IE 6, it did with mine.
Hope this helps.
P.S. This is procedure for XP, check www.microsoft.com for your version of windows and type the following in the
search box, uninstall internet explorer 7 for further help.
karimm,
I viewed your instructions and I do have a "windows" folder but there is almost nothing in it including no ie7 folder or anything to do with internet explorer. What should i do now? Thanks for you answer. It sounds very well laid out!

I have tried to install the latest release version of IE 7 over IE 7 Beta2 release and I am notified by the system that the existing Beta 2 version cannot be installed.
Initially I tried to remove IE Beta 2 via Control Panel Add/Remove programs and this could not be achieved.
I then tried Norton to remove this version and it was also refused.
Subsequently during a normal MS update I saw that a special removal program was available and I down loaded this software tool and ran the program. This, once again, was refused so I am in the position that I am unable to remove or update IE 7 in thr future. I do not know whether there were any bugs in the Beta 2 version which could cause problems in the future as have noticed that a IE Beta 3 version was also issued for download.
What can I do, I am reluctant to remove the program files via WExplorer i.e. "cut/delete files".
Please advise soonest

I tried to unistall using the unistall wizrd found in the spunis folder but it said:
Internet Explorer Beta 2 Preview cannot be unistalled from this user account. Please log on to the same user account from which it was installed and try agian.
So I did and it has full administrative priviliges so what is the problem?
IF ANYONE IS STILL IN HERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET RID OF IE7 I FIGURED IT OUT IT TOOK ME 2 DAYS AND IT WAS REAL EASY. JUST DOWNLOAD THE NEWIEST IE7 INSTALL IT THEN GO TO ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS LOOK FOR WINDOWS INTERNET EXPLORER 7 AND UNINSTALL IT AND IE6 WILL AUTOMATICALY REPLACE IT. I SWEAR THIS WILL WORK I SAW ALL THE OTHER POSTS IN HERE I EVEN TRIED MOST OF THE IDEAS SOME HAD. I MIXED SOME OF EVERYONES IDEAS ABOUT IT TOGETHER AND FIGURED IT OUT SO IF U WANT IE6 BACK DO WHAT I SAID.
