In the Team Build Type Creation Wizard you can not select the Run Test option without a Test list.
so my question is:
How can I build a Test List for my *.vsmdi file without the Test Manger that is not included in Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Software Developers.
At present it is only possible to create a vsmdi file using Team Edition for Testers. It was discussed during the last Team System chat that it was necessary for developers with other editions to be able to create vsmdi files, so hopefully we will see this functionality opening up.
Grant Archibald has created an MSBuild task which will dynamically generate a vsmdi file from your test assemblies, I haven't had a chance to try it yet though:
