Have you applied SP4 for Windows 2000? If not, I would suggest to do so. I would also suggest updating Windows.
Then disable your anti virus software and run the installation again but making sure that if anything was installed from the previous installation, to remove it if it's displayed in the control panel > add/remove programs

i try install vs 2005 prof on windows 2000 sp4.
no betas was on machine before.
but mdac28 not installed, when i try install it from wcu folder, it runs without error msg.
but the vs install not success.
