DLookUp, DMax and DMin equivalents

Hello,

Sorry, I am a newbie but I'm sure other newbies will probably benefit from this question.

I am come from an Access 97/3GL background and have managed resist change for sometime now but I have to force myself to get into VB.NET. For starters I am trying to learn from hands on experience and am converting a database to VB.NET. I am now stuck trying to find DLookup functions but don't seem to be having any luck.

Do we have to construct our own versions of these functions in VB.NET? . . . or am I missing a Class or library function somewhere?

Apologies if this causes you to sigh with disgust. :(
