Watch Forums?

Hi, Is there a way to watch or subscribe to a forum so that I can get notified if something is added?

Yes, from the faq:
"What is the 'XML' icon at the bottom of a forum?
The XML icon is linked to the RSS feed for the forum. RSS is used to allow other applications to subscribe to forums posts. "

Take a look in the bottom right of the screen.

Hi,

When you create or reply to a thread, there's an alert checkbox at the bottom (it's checked by default). you would be e-mailed (on your .net passport) if someone replies to the thread...

cheers,

You're not emailed, you get a notification sent to your "MSN Alerts" (don't you?) which I find really annoying - they should be emailed to you IMO.

Alerts also suffer the problem that they're not viewable via Web Messenger which I am forced to use when on some/most client sites. Hence I won't know if someone replies to this post because I don't routinely check this forum. (feel free to email me tho :)

The forums are great but not perfect. The use of Alerts is my biggest bugbear!

I can't remember how I did but my alerts are emailed to me.

You get the chance to decide how alerts are sent when you first configure them. By default it uses both Messenger and Email, but you can log into http://alerts.msn.com/Alerts/Default.aspx with the passport account you use in these forums, and change that if you want (under basic delivery, uncheck 'messenger')
