What about lone wolf programmers?
Because I can't afford an MSDN subscription, I purchased the VS 2005 Team System Beta 2 which I just installed.
So I'm installed and I start up the client IDE (I only installed the client stuff) only to find that I can't seem to create a project without being connected to a team server.
The requirements for team server are very steep - I mean, I do some light work on the side, I can't afford Server 2003, SQL 2005 etc. to develop applications with.
I take it that the new version of Visual Studio is centered around teams only? Or am I missing something? If I don't work in a team am I relegated to VS 2003?

Have Win2000 Server with Pent III Xeon 866 256M. Can I install just the the Team Suite media and run the IDE? What are the requirements for SQLSSERVER2005? Thanks, prog.
You might want to take a look at this page. The minimal Team System client configuration is 2 ghz, 512 MB RAM, 8 GB disk. Recommended is 2.6 ghz, 1 GB RAM, 20 GB disk.

I can't speak to the sql server requirements, you might try posting your question in a SQL forum.
