Anyone Have Success Installing Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 Team Foundation Server?

I've read through many of the postings here, but haven't seen a single posting from someone who has successfully installed this thing. Regular pre-req thing, Windows 2003 Server SP1 32-bit, using VMware with 1Gig RAM assigned to this VM, attempting single-tier install. Everything is done as specified in the instructions and everything works (and verified) until the last step -- the TFS itself.

Same problems as others, at the very end (according to the progress bar), it fails on two different places (sometimes I can overcome the first):

Error 32000: ServiceDefinition.aspx

I thought I remedied this by allowing Active Server Pages in IIS Config -- but other times I have attempted install, with this already configed, and I still get the error. However, I can never overcome this one:

Error 32000: BisService.asmx

which is where others have failed. I am starting with a squeaky clean VM, no prior versions if TFS or SQL Server or anything else.

So who's got a success story?

The good news... I've successfully installed TFS B2 a few times, including in some unsupported configuration variants.

The bad news... I don't know what your error 32000 means.

The installation in B2 is a little touchy but definately better than it had been in previous releases. Try to make sure you don't do any shortcuts in the installation... even some obvious steps can cause a break if you don't follow the instructions by-the-letter.

Good luck.

I am having the same problem. All pre-requisites have been run through just fine. The last step where I setup TFS keeps failing on me. "Error 32002. Failed to create process for "c:\Documents~\vm~\locals~\Temp\TFServerStatusValidator.exe"".

I have not been able to find out what error 32002 means. If anyone can throw some light on this, that would be great.

I guess I got exactly what I asked for -- congrats to you! So it is possible to successfully install TFS. Unfortunately, this is still of little help to the others on this forum who (I am certain) have diligently followed all of the instructions.

The frustration I am having is more to do with an install that cannot be restarted, nor resumed -- the only recourse it appears is to start ALL OVER again. If we were not using VMware, this would be an impossibility with all the time invested. I know that it is 'BETA', but this is extreme...

My team of developers will not be looking at this part of the tool until it is GA. We can not afford to spend so much time trying to install a product w/o any success.

Well i must be lucky then, i succesfully installed Beta 2 in 1 try Singleserver (Real machine not VM ware), and then later i succesfully installed the July CTP on Dual Tier installation (Real machines).

I hope you have better luck with the Beta 3!

I am getting a similar error:

[09/20/05,16:10:08] Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation App-Data Tier Beta 2 (English): [2] ERROR:Error 32000.The Commandline '"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 Enterprise Server\BISIISDIR\sdk\bin\Bisregedit.exe" "http://VSTS2003:8080/SCC/public/application/ServiceDefinition.aspx" VSTS2003 BisDB' returned non-zero value: 1.

I have installed this about 10 times and get the same error. Did you have a fix, i.e. delete what database files after ADAM?
Do I have to revert back to before installing the TFS part and un-install ADAM?
