Questions about Key performance indicators (KPI)

Hi, all here,

I have questions about key performance indicators (KPI) in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services. Questions are as below:

1: the trend indicator dose not mean anything? Since it is just an arrow there? (if we choose standard arrow as the trend indicator)

2: In which case should we use which status indicator? since there are different status indicators available. BesidesGauge,Cylinder, what do other status indicator mean? Cant see what do those indicator exactly represent then?

Really confused about that. Thanks a lot in advance for any guidance and help.

Did you try to view KPIs in the browser? Second button from the right on the toolbar menu, or menu 'Cube' / 'Show KPIs in' / 'Browser' would display current KPIs.

Trend shows if the values i rising (arrow up), stays same (arrows to the right), or falling (arrow down).

All of those images used for KPIs design, are just representatives of whole array of images used in actual KPI browser/web page. They are showing different states.

Does this help?
