automatic data generation tool

I want to generate test data automatically. The process is as follows,

1. User will enter the fieldname and datatype and range in a form. (inputs will change)
2. We have to capture that details
3. Based on the defined fields, we have to generate test data
4. Put the test data into an excel sheet

am looking at getting an overview about the whole process from a design

point of view and implementtion will follow. any insights will be

appreciated. any resources/ links with reference to the above

requirement are welcome.
