Cant Start Projects

When I try to start a project it gives me an error ("The file name, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect") or something like that, any one know why and how to fix it?

Make sure the project name that you specify is in the correct format and will would work under the Windows filesystem. This means don't use silly things like spaces and hyphens/apostrophes. Try using just simple lowercase letters to root out the issue.

Uhh, you can use spaces and hyphens. Just don't use illegal characters like : \ | etc..

Need more info! What OS, where did you install GSE, etc?

If that's the case, maybe it's the folder you're trying to save to. Under the C: drive, just create a new folder and save your project under that folder. If there aren't illegal character in the whole directory+filename, it could be a problem with the install, and I suggest you send a report to Microsoft Connect about it.

I sent a report and its when I try to start one, not save. I click start new project, then select ANY project type and it gives said error.

Sounds like your installation is hosed.
