Ram update for a pc with an oem version of windows

I have a Genuine OEM version of windows XP Profesional installed on my PC and I am thinking about installing more ram and mabey a new graphics card. Will this render my copy of windows as a non genuine copy or will it still be a valid copy?

it will still be a valid copy - the OS does not care about the RAM when hardware changes, it cares about if the motherboard (which holds the BIOS) has been changed and I believe it will ask you to reactivate the product. As for RAM, this is safely OK.

it will only become a non valid copy (and illegal) if:

  • you resell it on its own to someone else

  • you install the OEM version on another computer for which it was not sold with

  • creating illegal copies and distributing it.
