Advice on where to begin

Beyond the Activity objects which have been posted online, what other Activities & Workflows will shipping with WinWF when it is released?

I'm sure the developers here on this forum would like to focus their efforts in areas that are not redundant with the shipping framework...

Lastly, what advice can you offer us in terms of where to begin... I did not attend the PDC this year, but I have review most of the PPT files that have been posted regarding WinWF.

Heya V.

A good place to start for some simple examples is in the documentation. The section marked Windows Workflow Foundation Samples has some good samples that you can click to save out to your machine and then execute.

There are also 3 tutorials included in the Beta 1 doc's: Sequential Workflow, State Machine and Custom Activities. If you're not the type to go through step by step, details on getting the project code for all 3 tutorials can be found at http://blogs.msdn.com/markhsch/archive/2005/09/21/472455.aspx.

Hi Chris,
Yes you are right. There are both Technology Samples and Applications Samples, which I was unaware of.

They look great!! Thanks again.

My only gripe, why don't we have a single zip file to download, which contains all the samples? I think I just got carpel tunnel syndrome downloading the lot of the them, one at a time....
ouch.

Actually, there is a zip file included in Windows Workflow Foundation containing all the samples. You can find it at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows Workflow Foundation\Samples.zip

I've installed the SDK and .Net 3.0. I can create workflow projects in VS 2005, but I don't see the samples you mention. What installs them?
