why does my .net 2003 run so slow on my Compaq Presario R4125?

Hi there,
I installed the .net 2003, specifically the part of VC+++, on my Compaq Presario R4125CA Notebook (cpu:AMD 64 3500; momery:512M; HDD: 100G; OS: home-version XP with SP2 ). When I start my .net, it is extremely slow, it takes almost 3 minutes. When try to add a new class to my project, it takes almost 5 minutes to response and my mouse is even been disfunctioned during this period.

Please help me out. Thanks!

Here's a test:

Disconnect from the network and load VS.NET. If it is faster, download VSTweak (http://www.gotdotnet.com/workspaces/releases/viewuploads.aspx?id=b9330ea5-096d-45b7-8a5b-17450d7a0d5a) and try editing/deleting your Most Recently Used list. This can cause problems...

If it is still slow, try adding a new class to a C# project (I've found C++ projects to be FAR slower in VS 2003 than C#). This is just for a comparison. If adding the C# class if far faster, maybe it's your computer's configuration?

Hope this helps,
