Live Messenger Not Adding Contacts Properly

I started adding some contacts one day for whatever reason and I was

talking to them on the phone and they said they added me, and that I

added them back, but neither of us were getting notifications from the

other to accept the add so they can see when I am online and vice

versa. They and I can be online at the same time and it shows them as

offline, and there display name is just their email address. I never

added this person before nor had they had me added at any point and

time, so we weren't just making that mistake.
Also on a seperate occasion I accidently deleted a friend from my list

and later he messaged me and it came up as his email saying

he was messaging me and wasn't in my contacts list and to "click here"

to add him to my contacts list, and I would do so, but it wouldn't add

him properly, it was showing him as offline when I knew he was online

because he was talking to me.
Out of a hunch that it was Live Messenger screwing up because this

never happened before, I uninstalled Live Messenger and installed the old 7.5 Version,

and the first time I logged in I had 4 notifications pop

up to add people that had added me, I added them, and everything worked

fine.

I than started missing some of the features of Live Messenger that MSN

Messenger just didn't have, as well as a new version of Live messenger

had come out, so I assumed maybe you guys fixed it, but I uninstalled

old MSN Messenger and reinstalled Live Messenger, and those same

contacts that I had added before when I had Live Messenger (that didn't

work) are now showing as offline, and just as email addresses and not

their public display name again

Can I get any help please?

Simple fix, open up a notepad and type the following:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\Policies]

Then save as bla.reg, execute it and you are set to go :)

Hi

Can anyone tell me how this would happen:

I had a friend in my contacts. I deleted them. Ok. This person still had me in their list. I know that from my reverse list. Anyways I just got an Add request from this person? Why would I recieve that if I am already in their list? Why would they need to send me another request to add them.? Please help.
