Hi Saradhi,

I would recommend that take a look through the documentation available online. It is the most recent and will give you an overview of the system and the various components. It's a pretty typical web/database application in terms of architecture with business-specific systems.

As for Windows "Longhorn" support, I'm not sure what features you are looking at specifically. I haven't tested it on Longhorn and given the "in development" status I would believe that the official word would be that there will be support in a future service pack release.

Cheers,
Colin

There are quite a few good online resources available which describe the overall architecture of Commerce Server 2007. A couple of links are listed below.

Hi Saradhi,

Longhorn is the internal codename for Vista and the forthcoming release of Windows Server. The key feature that you should be interested in is support for IIS 7. Given that Commerce Server runs off COM+ objects and ASP.NET 2.0 HttpModules you should be okay (although it it is not official supported at this time as far as I am aware) to start work on IIS 7. Vista was released with a fully capable IIS web server to facilitate early development on that release prior to the next release of Windows Server due to ship late 2007 / early 2008.

Cheers,
Colin
