cannot deliver messages to MSN bots

i've been hosting 2 bots with the Incesoft bot provider for the last 2 months. after the Messenger service problems (on Wednesday?), i have not been able to reliably host the bots (MobileRecordBot@hotmail.com andTextAdventureBot@hotmail.com). the message i get when trying to communicate is : "The following message could not be delivered to all recipients"

i've been trying the last 3 nights to get them working again, and have run out of ideas. the bot program seems to be connecting fine to Incesoft's servers, and using the Incesoft admin tools seems to log the bots in and out properly. also, a small # of sessions will work properly when i leave them running overnight. my own user experience is that i can start a session with the bot immediately after restarting it, but then it's mostly not accessible from then on.

more info, is that i can log into hotmail.com using the bots accounts, but i cannot log into a messenger client using the bots credentials? is that because the bots have already been provisioned?

any ideas on how to make the bots accessible again?

Thanks, casey

I'm having the same problem with one of my bots. A lot of other bots that participated in the contest show the same behaviour, maybe also because of this problem.

here's the thread on the Incesoft forums : http://forum.incesoft.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=257&PN=1

the last post says to try reinstalling the messenger client (on the bot servers?) ... so i'll try that tonight. i'm skeptical about that, because a couple sessions did work overnight. and i tried reinstalling the messenger clients on my client machines ... and still get the problem. actually, one of my machines hosting the bot is a web server, and i'm pretty sure it doesn't have a messenger client installed at all. will have to check tonight.

Thanks, casey

I have the same issues too with both my bots - Mother Nature and InvestWiser

There are a few sessions which sends messages (less than 5% of original traffic). However, I am unable to. When i keep trying once in a while after immediately signing out and signing in from incebot console, I connect. But lose it soon.

Eitherway, the display image is lost while the tagline is intact!!

I reinstalled client MSN but i do not think it is the issue, since the bots worked fine when hosted form computers without MSN messenger!!!

Any more ideas? Is the judging over? Just a bit worried since the results are not declared :(

Not that i should get a prize but atleast the bot should not be disqualified because a judge could not get to it or see my image (best part of the bot?)

Any help or info would be appreciated.

Hello Kushi, i was worried about judging too, so i wrote one of the judges last week. I was told that judging was complete, so that made me felt a little better about the bot being offline.

but the problem is, i actually use one of my bots ... so i want to get it running again :)

anyway, are you able to login to a Messenger client using the bots passport credentials? i can't for either of my bots, but i 'think' i used to be able to ...

Thanks, casey

Good job Casey. I feel better reading your message.

I am able to login using my bot id into MSN. But you will have to "signout" from InceSoft console before you try to login into MSN messenger using the id. Maybe that was your issue.

Logout from InceSoft console and login using messenger. That should work.

I've been finding that after I log off and back on again from the console, messenger boots me off after about 30 seconds. Very strange. What's weird over night I see that there is activity but when I send a message to my bot it says that it message could not be sent to provider.

May I know who gave you that info? My guess (and it really is a guess, I don't really know more then you) is that they have indeed reviewed all the bots, but have problems with giving away prizes or making a ranking or something like that. Because I would say that otherwise the results would have been published....

Wow you guys! I think somebody turned on the switch this morning! My bot seems to be running smoothly today! Are you guys still experiencing problems?

my bots seem to be doing a little better, but i'm still getting periodic "cannot deliver messages" when testing from different MSN accounts.

I spoke to soon! This message has been the story of my life for the last week.

The following message could not be delivered to all recipients

the ability to access them has definitely improved within the last 48 hours ... but they are still not even close to the level of reliability they were before the Messenger hiccup last week. and i've made 0 changes on my end, other than restarting the bot host application and signing in/out of the bot providers admin pages. so either MS or Incesoft made the change?

regardless, this is ridiculous. the hosting/execution of bots needs to be made more visible so i can see where the problem actually lies. all i can do right now is keep my bot running, and hope either MS and/or Incesoft make some more changes ...

Thanks, casey

I think it is Incesoft, as all the bot's hosted by Colloquis work properly.
