Some Favorites Suggestions

Hi,

Over the past couple of days I've done a brief survey of online bookmarking tools, and settled on Live Favorites. I'm not so interested in sharing my links, so my needs are centered on managing my own favorites, and being able to efficiently find things later.

Since I'm a Live Favorites "newbie", forgive me if any of these features are already present:

  1. Drag/drop organizing for folders: Since a folder metaphor is supported, it sure would be nice to be able to drag/drop favorites into new folders.
  2. Tags should be listed alphabetically: When I switch to the tag-based view, my preference would be to see the tags on the left listed in alphabetical order. (I'm not sure what the order currently is, actually.)
  3. Global search/replace for tags: It's easy to accidently use two slightly different forms of the same tag, for example "tool" and "tools". A global tag search/replace would let users easily fix this problem later, and otherwise reorganize their tags.
  4. Tag filtering: When I click on a tag in the left column, the main column shows the favorites that have that tag. I would then like to be able to easily see which tags on the left are still represented in the subset of favorites that I'm seeing. This could be accomplished by highlighting or outlining the tag names. That way I could more intelligently select additional tags to narrow down the list in the main column. (If this is unclear, please ask me to try explaining it again.)
  5. Tag "auto complete": When typing in tag names for a new link, it would be nice to have an "auto complete" feature that would suggest the tag name based on existing tags. For example, if I typed "t" and had previously used the tag "tool", then the tag "tool" would be presented.
  6. Tag suggestions: For a new link, appropriate tags could be suggested based on (a) an analysis of the target Web page, and/or, (b) the tags that other Live users have used for the same page (or a page on the same domain). Both of these could be automatically adjusted based on the tags that the user has already assigned to existing favorites.

Hope this helps. (And, selfishly, I hope to see some of these features soon!)

Best,

Barton
