Textboxes Moving on the Report

I am having a very frustrating problem and am hoping someone can help out.

I setup my report in VS and in the preview it looks 100%.

I then deploy it to the server and then some of the textboxes get moved all the way to the right of the screen. However if I print it it still prints 100%?

Is there a setting or something that will stop this?
This has happened often and with different labels.

Well by adding a larger gap between my Textbox Header and Textbox datafield it has now stopped them moving.

The report does not look 100% but at least it is readable again.

I would still like to find the answer as to why this is happening.

Thanks.

Gavin,

I don't have an overall explanation because this happens with me also. I one way I have eliminated the shifting is that I place all of my textbox control inside the rectangle control, using this control is a good way to eliminate the moving.

Thanks I have noticed that putting them inside a rectangle does seem to cut down on the movement but it hasn't stopped it unfortunately.

I still have one troublesome textbox which just refuses to sit where I need it to. The only way I have gotten it to work now is by leaving a large gap between this textbox and the one above it.

It's very frustrating as these problems sometimes either don't get seen until the client picks it up or they take hours to fix. Why can't the textbox just stay where I put it?

Gavin,

One other reason for movement of textboxes, Is in the textbox properties there is a format tab. The format tab has a property of the "Amout of space to leave between each side of the report item". If you are like me than you probably never adjusted this property. I'm sure if you play around to the format setting on this tab it will correct your movement problems.

I never saw that before.

My report is already completed and after it took 3 days to do I am not going to touch it now :)

But I think you are 100% correct, I was trying to put two labels next to each other but each one had a 2pt margin set. So it would be impossible.

Thanks for the help, that is going to make a huge difference for my next report.
