Contacts not adding suddenly...

Basily what the title says.
i've been using live for a long time now with no issues thus far.
however now all of a sudden, its giving me all kinds of issues adding people to my contact list.
i add them, yet the "request" isn't going through to them on their side...
any idea why this is happening?
no more then 2 weeks ago i've added multiple contacts with no issues, however anyone i've tried to add within the last week or so hasn't worked.

i went back to msn 7.5 untill i fully understand this situation thanks a lot.

if this helps.....

IN my contact list i see their email, they've told me i havent added them yet
now when i click their name it says i cant send them a message becasue they are "not on my contact list" then it says "click here to add him/her now"
i click and nothing happens... almost like that feature is disabled or doesn't work.

i really would appreciate some help here
thanks.

I had the same problems. I just ended up going back to 7.5.324 because of that and other bugs I seem to be experiencing (not to mention the annoying rotating ads) with Live Messenger. Many people I know also did the same. I was actually very disappointed. Sure Live has more "fancy" features some of it quite useless IMHO but 7.5 is much better. Of course there are other better IMs out there as well like Trillium. Anyways I hope the current version isn't a final build because it still feels very beta with all the bugs. I'm sure the Live team is hard at work fixing out the bugs so here's to hoping we see a better build in the future.

Same problem here. The problem has just manifested itself in the past coupe of weeks. Maybe some weird server problem with not refreshing or something. Im goin to get back to 7.5 because it's stressing me out.

Close WLM, launch notepad and type the following:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\Policies]

Save as *.reg and execute. Launch WLM and it should work.
